Stingrays are closely related to sharks. While their venom can be deadly, they are very rarely aggressive and are mostly calm and gentle when interacting with humans. They spend a lot of time hiding in the sand and camouflaging themselves so they can wait for potential prey to pass by and also hide from predators (it's always a good idea to shuffle your feet when walking through shallow waters to avoid stepping on one!) If you do get a chance to see a baby stingray from underneath, we guarantee it will be one of the cutest things you've ever seen!
